Martin Luther King

A man of great esteem
What was so special about the man
He had a dream
A dream to see whites & blacks holding hands
The only way his dream could come true
He had to take a stand
A stand that caused him his life
Without Martin Luther King there would be no civil right
He took a stand for what he believe
He knew the day he stood and preached
The end of that dream he would not see
Nor the drastic changed he seeked
Just like Moses when he spoke of the promise land
Martin knew he would not see the end of God’s plan
He lifted up his voice raised out his hand
Pointing at the people saying you my
People you can
You will reach that promise land
Every black boy and every black girl
Every black woman and every black man
He turned that dream unto a reality
Yes his desire to see his people free
Was the cause of his fatality
Without Martin we would not be where we are today
A life for a dream was the price Dr. King was willing to pay
Now who will walk in his footsteps today
And finish the fight and lead the way.
